These eRA modules provide the ability for agencies to create and manage notices of funding opportunities online and for agency staff to electronically search for and request an activity code, the three-character code used to identify funding mechanisms (F32, R01, etc.)
The Funding Opportunity Announcement Module (FOAM) is designed to provide end-to-end support for the Institutes and Centers (ICs) at NIH and for eRA's agency partners in online development of funding announcements and guide notices from initial draft through publication in the NIH Guide.
eRA Module: Code Request Information Management (CRIMS)The Code Request Information System (CRIMS) allows authorized NIH and partner agency staff to search for and request an activity code, the 3-character code used to identify funding mechanisms (e.g., F32, K08, P01, R01, T32), as well as a PHS organizational code. The system also notifies appropriate staff at the Office of Extramural Research (OER) and the Office for Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA) when a request for new activity codes has been submitted and notifies IC staff of the status of their requests.
