Alert Module

What is the purpose?

The Alert Module allows Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA) users to create, enter and manage alerts associated with NIH grants. These alerts may affect special award terms, require a hold placed on an award, or be purely informational in nature.

What are the features?

• Shows Active Alerts associated with a grant on the Alert screen within the Grants Management (GM) module.
• Displays Alerts on the Award Worksheet Report (AWR) for affected grants.

What are the benefits?

• Enables OPERA to inform GM users of issues affecting grant awards in a timely manner.
• Allows OPERA the flexibility to create, edit, and associate alerts as needed.

Who can use the Alert Module?

The Alert Module is restricted to authorized OPERA users with specified roles. However, users with GM access will be able to view alerts for affected grants in Grants Management and on the Award Worksheet Report (AWR).
