Roles for Service/Research Verification Portal

Supervisors of Loan Repayment Program (LRP) awardees must use the LRP Award Service/Research Verification Portal to verify service and research once per quarter. These supervisors must be granted certain roles within eRA Commons to access the LRP Award Service/Research Verification Portal. If the user has the appropriate roles, the menu option LRP Verifications appears in the Apps menu in eRA Commons. See Accessing the Participant Portal.

An extramural Employed outside NIH or intramural Employed inside NIH research supervisor needs the LRPS role. An extramural supervisor verifies both service and research. An intramural supervisor verifies research only. Only an institution's signing official (SO) may grant the LRPS role; for other roles, this role does not appear in the account management system.

An IC Coordinator needs both the LRPS and SPONSOR roles and this coordinator will verify only service, but not research.
