Create a patent or pvp* report for the invention in iEdison

Funding recipients must inform the awarding agency of any initial patent application within one year of notifying the agency that they have elected to retain title to the invention (or earlier in case of public disclosure). The patent application must acknowledge federal government support, consistent with the Bayh-Dole Act.

To create the report in iEdison, users can navigate to the Create New Patent Report screen, accessible from the main menu.  The notification in iEdison must include the patent application number and filing date assigned by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

iEdison also provides access to notify the awarding agency of a *plant variety protection (PVP) application and of the issuance of a PVP certificate, consistent with the Bayh-Dole Act requirements.
